Move to T+1 in Europe: The Industry Committee publishes its report

02/07/2025

In line with its commitment, the Industry Committee* published its report on 30 June 2025.

Read the report

This document, which details a set of recommendations to enable a successful transition to T+1 in October 2027, is the result of 5 months of intensive work carried out by 10 groups covering all the trade and post-trade activities and involving all industry players (buy-side, sell-side, custodians, market infrastructures, etc.). An 11th group (Operational Timetable Coordination Group) had the difficult task of redrawing the “day” and making possible in 3 hours what can be done in 27 hours today.

The conclusions presented in this report are therefore the result of this work, and if they are not "regulatory" requirements, the idea is to apply a concept of "adhere or explain" to them. Of course, these are broad guidelines, and some points will require further analysis, but this publication is important because it sets out the changes to be made and allows industry players to better identify the impacts on their activities.

In addition to this document, an event organised by the Commission to present the conclusions will be held on 3 July 2025. Finally, a consultation should take place this summer.
