MIF II: the review of MIFID II/MIFIR package has been published

The two texts amending the MIF II package were published in the Official Journal of the European Union on Friday 8 March 2024.
While the texts published in 2014 (2014/65 and 600/2014) covered a very large spectrum (market structure, investor protection, regulatory transaction reporting, etc), the 2024 developments focus on certain points: the establishment of consolidated tapes (CT), a general ban of the “payment for order flows” practice or the introduction of new rules on commodity derivatives.
Both texts entered into force on 28 March 2024.
