On 19 March 2025, the Commission issued a press release on the adoption of its Savings and Investment Union Strategy to improve the capacity of the EU financial system to channel savings into productive investments.
The report makes several proposals to strengthen the integration and development of European financial markets
The Commission will prepare detailed legislative proposals to be submitted to the European Parliament and the Council, before transposing directives into national law and adapting regulations.
