Hugh Palmer

Following on from a previous project to build the international business of SGSS’ retail division through an e-brokerage project with BHFM in Eastern Europe, Hugh Palmer was appointed to lead SGSS’ T2S project in spring 2011. Hugh was previously a senior manager within SGSS’ Strategy for Market Infrastructures Department where his main responsibilities were with regards to European Harmonization projects.

Hugh began his career at Societe Generale in 1994, holding various operational postings in corporate actions and settlement. Previous key missions have included: managing the transition from ISO 7775 to ISO 15022, representing Société Générale in French market inter-bank discussions and working groups especially in the field of post-trade solutions and product development across the business line for local/global  custody and trustee services.

Hugh obtained a double-BA in European Economics from Middlesex University (UK) and from Université de Nantes (FR)
