Guillaume joined Societe Generale in 1990 and began his career with the bank’s "Inspection Générale" department. Following several assignments within the Group’s retail banking branch in France and abroad, Guillaume was given the responsibility of strategic international development, working closely with the Head of Securities, in Nantes, France.

In 1998, Guillaume went on to launch an entity in Zurich, Switzerland, specialised in clearing and custody for the Swiss and German markets. At the end of 2002, he returned to France and was appointed Chairman of PAREL S.A, a clearing subsidiary of Societe Generale, before taking on the role of Deputy Head in charge of the clearing product line to develop SGSS’s offer in July 2008. In July 2010, Guillaume was appointed Head of Clearing Services for Institutional Clients for SGSS and became a member of the SGSS international Management Committee. In 2012, he was named Head of Business Development for Financial Institutions and Brokers at SGSS and Head of Strategic Marketing in July 2016.

Guillaume Heraud holds a degree in economics and politics from the "Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris."
